There is more mileage in Greyson Turner’s voice than his twenty-seven years account for.
Gravel-laden and old-school, it carries songs he callsStitched-up Americana — pieces of two places sewn into one thing. Spartanburg, South Carolina raised him and put the grain in the voice. Austin, since 2021, has been putting the miles on it.
He has been performing most of his life: talent shows, musicals, rock bands, the American Idol stage. Then a six-year pause on releasing anything, which he filled — two degrees, the move to Texas, fronting an alternative-rock band, and a long run of nights in listening rooms.
The pause ended with Reap What You’ve Sown (2025): nine songs put out one at a time across ten months, then gathered into a record. An official SXSW 2026 artist, he has spent this year releasing new singles and playing Texas stages with a full band, where the voice does exactly what it promises.
